Former Red Raven Football Player and Lettermen Hall of Fame inductee J.D. Akard passed away on Sunday September 5th in Manhattan Kansas.  Funeral Services for Mr. Akard will be at 11 a.m. Saturday September 11th at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Coffeyville Kansas.

    When you think of Pittsburg, Wellington and Topeka, Kansas, what is

the common theme among those places? For many of you the only thing that all

of them have in common is they are cities in Kansas. For me, those cities

represent the hometowns of my former teammates and 3 of the best friends

anyone could ask for. What started in the summer of 1992 when Luke Yarnell,

Poncho Sales and I were freshmen at Coffeyville, and in January of 1993 when

Five of Coffeyville Community College's past nineteen head football coaches were in attendance at the 2008 Hall of Fame Banquet. These 5 coaches represent 40 years of Red Raven Football, accumulating a total of 320 wins over that time.
